I’m a dork who researches with zebrafish, so I got super excited when I heard Kevin mention them 🙂 (However, they’re freshwater fish, so you probably wouldn’t even see any as you were being keelhauled. Plus, they’re not very interesting to look at :P)

I’m looking forward to hearing a sewer rat song from Darkest of the Hillside Thickets 😉

That lesser of two evils was awful if obvious. My stomach flipped every time you mentioned barnacles and bare skin. +1 for being struck through while covered in poo.

Btw, for a completely different take on Hamlet I cannot extol the virtues of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, the film based on Tom Stoppard’s excellent play (he also wrote Shakespeare in Love). Fantastic performances by Tim Roth and Gary Oldman. They’re the indistinguishable pair who accompany Hamlet on the way to England.

Not a fan of these two part episodes especially when the second part is mostly the weakest section of the show, pop culture. Love the podcast and I feel guilty leaving negative feedback since you guys are giving me free entertainment.

There are probably lots of other pop culture examples of regicide—heck, Colm Feore in “Chronicles of Riddick” might even count—but my favourite has to be the first Black Adder series, which both starts and ends with acts of (accidental) regicide. The first episode has heavy nods to Shakespeare’s Richard III (“Oh god, it’s uncle Richard.”) and the climax of the last episode has a nod to Hamlet (“Don’t drink the wine!”).
