  1. hey there,
I noticed that in your movie review you missed Hell Boy as having Octopus type creatures in it. Love the shows and have gotten a few people into it.

  3. Also missing is the infamous Lovecraftian musical ‘A Shoggoth on the Roof.’ The very first song is… ‘Tentacles!’

  4. In answer to a question asked during the podcast, yes, cephalopod ink has been used as actual writing ink for thousands of years. Pop culture reference, in the John Irving book, Widow for a Year, the main character, who is an author, uses squid ink for his children’s books. I believe that the ink went rancid at one point in the book. Excellent book and an excellent movie, The Door in the Floor, was based on part of the book. Nothing to do with tentacles, though.

  6. I dont know if you guys mentioned it in any of the follow up episodes (still making my way through them all), but there is a scene in a fantastic Korean film called Oldboy (8.4 on IMDB), the main character goes into a seafood bar and eats a live octopus… its gross! real Caustic Soda material. The wriggling tentacles cling to his face as he eats it:

The ‘making of’ section of the DVD shoes the behind the scenes of that take. That poor actor (and octopus).

Please check it out or watch the film, its really good.

    Great show!
