Followups II

The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets’ guitarist Warren BANKS! joins the crew to do another round of follow-ups and listener mail, including: Japanese cannibal checks himself out of mental institution; parasitological museum (a hot date spot); poisoning at a Chinese funeral; exploding hydrogen bombs in the Van Allen belt; an Aztec sword; the man with an iron bar in his head; using chickens to test airplane structural integrity; the Ika-Tako (squid/octopus) virus; honour killings in Turkey; gravedigging mishaps; gorilla pubic lice; and the Spaceship Zero roleplaying game!

Music: “Nobody Here But Us Chickens” by Louis Jordan

  1. You missed in your research that Paul the psychic octopus died a couple of months ago.
I’m deeply ashamed I know this.

  3. That’s the spirit Lars! Keep up the comments and perhaps you’ll be the next Follow-ups guest!

  5. 1. You guys missed the most disturbing part of the Sagawa documentary: he made porn movies where the actresses were locked in his apartment with him for 24 hours. During sex, he would bite the girls and say things like “I want to eat you”. After the 24 hours, he would reveal his past, showing pictures of the crime scene.

    2. I asked around in Japan, nobody has heard of him here. He appears to only be known to the horror movie subculture. He has been in B movies as a cannibal.

    3. I’ve been to the Meguro parasite museum. It’s fun because the posters all basically say “eat this meat raw, and get THIS parasite”. Being Japan, I had recently eaten everything it says to avoid. I sent a bunch of pictures to Joe.

  6. I like followup episodes a lot. Maybe just do followup episodes. Think about it.

I work at an aerospace company in Seattle WA that will go unnamed.

I’ve seen video of the inside of a cockpit as it failed a bird-strike test.
    Awesome gore and carnage.
