    You’re right about Consuls too, if they’re anything like the ones they had during the Punic Wars. The Romans had two, with annual elections (so they’re a political position), but they also had to lead an army and have ten years military experience (so they’re a military position too). Not sure how much of the military side of things was around by the time the Republic had fallen into an Empire.

    Fascinating stuff as always, guys, and I like the intermission music.

  2. I was really hoping one of the pieces of interlude music would be ‘Caligulove’ by ‘Them Crooked Vultures’ (Josh Homme, John Paul Jones, Dave Grohl)
    I’m pretty sure its about Caligula based on the title and some of its interesting lyrics : )
